Terms of service
The agreement between you and Sagot. Effective 1 October 2026.
The short version
- Signing in and using Sagot means you accept these terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree too.
- What you write stays yours. Publishing it makes it public to anyone with the link.
- You are responsible for what you upload and publish. Upload only what you have the right to.
- AI output is a draft and can be wrong. Check it before you study from it.
- Only AI document reads cost money. Reads are final, never expire, and have no cash value.
- The Service is provided as is, with liability limited as far as Philippine law allows.
This summary is for convenience. The numbered sections below are the agreement.
1. Agreement
1.1 These terms of service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Renz Aron Gorre, doing business under the registered business name Renz Gorre Information Technology Services, which operates Sagot (“Sagot”, “we”, “us”), governing your use of sagot.app and every page, link and service provided under it (the “Service”).
1.2 By signing in to or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy, which form part of them. Your electronic acceptance has the same effect as a signature under Republic Act No. 8792, the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and minors
2.1 You must meet the minimum age Google sets for managing your own Google account in your country.
2.2 If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service, including any purchase. Purchases by a minor must be made with a parent or guardian’s authorization.
3. Your account
3.1 The Service requires signing in with a Google account. Your account is only as secure as that Google account, and access lost at Google cannot be restored by us.
3.2 You are responsible for all activity under your account. An account is for one person and may not be sold, transferred or shared. Tell us promptly at the.renzgorre@gmail.com if you believe it has been used without your permission.
3.3 A username must not impersonate anyone, mislead about who you are, or infringe anyone’s rights. We may change or reclaim one that does.
4. Your content
4.1 Ownership. “Your Content” means anything you write, upload, publish or generate through the Service, including reviewers, timetables, grades, documents and feedback. You keep every right you have in it. We claim no ownership of it.
4.2 Licence to us. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit and display Your Content, and to send it to our service providers, solely to operate and provide the Service to you and to the people you share it with. For published content, this includes displaying it, with your name and picture as its author, to anyone who has its link. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content you choose to leave published on deletion, for copies other users have already made, and for backups that expire in the ordinary course.
4.3 Publishing. A published reviewer or shared timetable is available to anyone with its link, who may view it, take it, save it and appear on its leaderboard. We cannot recall copies made by others. Do not publish anything you are not prepared to make public.
4.4 Responsibility. Your Content is your sole responsibility. We do not review, verify or endorse content before it is published, and content published by other users does not represent our views. We have no obligation to monitor content but may remove any of it under section 8.
5. What you promise about what you send us
By uploading, publishing, sharing or otherwise submitting any content or information to the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- you own it or have every right, licence and permission needed to submit it and to grant the licence in section 4.2;
- submitting it does not infringe any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right, including under Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code;
- it does not breach any duty of confidentiality, academic rule or agreement you are bound by, including any restriction on sharing examination or assessment material;
- any personal information about another person in it is submitted lawfully, with that person’s consent where the Data Privacy Act requires it, and does not include their sensitive personal information;
- it is accurate where it concerns you, and is not false, defamatory or misleading about anyone else; and
- it contains no virus, malicious code, or content designed to disrupt the Service or anyone’s device.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- upload or publish copyrighted material you have no right to copy, such as a textbook, a paid reviewer, or another person’s work;
- share examination questions or answers you are obliged to keep confidential, or cheat in any assessment;
- upload or publish personal information of others without a lawful basis, or any person’s sensitive personal information;
- harass, threaten, defame, bully or discriminate against anyone, or publish obscene or hateful content;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or school;
- do anything unlawful, including any offence under Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012;
- access or attempt to access another person’s account or data, probe or circumvent security or usage limits, or scrape, overload or disrupt the Service; or
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or its AI reading without our written permission.
7. Intellectual property complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, write to the.renzgorre@gmail.com with the link to the content, a description of the work or right infringed, your contact details, and a statement that the complaint is made in good faith and is accurate. We will review it promptly and remove or disable content that appears to infringe. We will terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. The same address takes complaints about personal information, as the privacy policy describes.
8. Removal, suspension and termination
8.1 We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law, exposes users or us to harm or legal liability, or is used in a way that imposes unreasonable cost on or disrupts the Service. Where reasonable and lawful, we will tell you what was done and why.
8.2 You may stop using the Service at any time, and may delete your account and data yourself at delete your data.
8.3 Unused reads on an account terminated for a material breach are forfeited and are not refunded. Sections 4.2 (for content left published), 5, 9 to 16 survive termination.
9. AI-generated output
9.1 Questions, answers and notes produced from a document are generated by a third-party language model. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, misread from the source or entirely invented. They are provided as a draft for you to review and correct, which is why they are placed in an editor rather than published automatically.
9.2 You are solely responsible for checking AI output before you rely on, study from or publish it. We make no representation that any output is correct, and nothing in the Service guarantees any grade, examination result or academic outcome.
10. Fees, reads and payment
10.1 All features of the Service are free except having AI make questions from a document, which uses “reads” (shown as coins) bought in packs. One read pays for up to ten questions, and a document over fifty pages costs one more read for each further fifty. The price is shown before a document is sent, only the questions returned are charged, and an upload that returns nothing usable is not charged.
10.2 Payments are processed by PayMongo under its own terms. Prices are in Philippine pesos and are those shown at checkout. We may change prices; a change does not affect reads already bought.
10.3 Reads are a limited licence to use a feature of the Service. They are not money, e-money, a deposit or a stored-value instrument, have no cash value, and may not be sold, transferred, exchanged for cash or moved between accounts, except by giving them to the author of a reviewer as section 10.5 allows. They do not expire while your account exists and are forfeited when it is deleted.
10.4 Purchases are final except as the refund policy provides.
10.5 From a published reviewer you may give some of your reads to the account that wrote it, so that its author can use them to make more. A gift is voluntary and final: it cannot be taken back or refunded, and reads you give count as spent. Given reads become the author’s reads like any others and remain subject to this section; they buy nothing from the author and are not payment for the reviewer or anything else. We may refuse a gift, and may take back from its recipient reads given out of a purchase that is later refunded or charged back, or given in breach of these Terms.
11. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is operated by a small business and is provided without any service level. It may be unavailable, slow or interrupted, and features may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time. Data can be lost. You are responsible for keeping your own copy of anything you would not want to lose; the source text of a reviewer is plain text so that you can.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service, all content on it and all AI output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is a study aid; it is not an educational institution and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Renz Gorre Information Technology Services, its owner Renz Aron Gorre, and anyone acting for them from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine, penalty, cost or expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of or related to: Your Content; anything you upload, publish or share through the Service; your breach of these Terms or of any warranty in section 5; your violation of any law or of any third party’s rights, including intellectual property, privacy and data protection rights; or any use of your account. If you are under 18, this obligation is assumed by your parent or guardian.
14. Limitation of liability
14.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, marks, grades, academic standing, opportunity, profit or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Service, whether in contract, quasi-delict or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility.
14.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and one thousand Philippine pesos (₱1,000).
14.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Philippine law, including liability arising from fraud, bad faith or gross negligence, or waives any non-waivable right you have under Republic Act No. 7394, the Consumer Act of the Philippines, or the Data Privacy Act.
15. Governing law and disputes
15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
15.2 Before bringing any claim, you agree to write to the.renzgorre@gmail.com describing it and to allow thirty (30) days to resolve it informally. Any dispute not so resolved shall be brought exclusively before the proper courts of the Philippines, without prejudice to your right to bring a complaint before the National Privacy Commission, the Department of Trade and Industry, or any other government agency with jurisdiction.
16. General
16.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, with the privacy policy and refund policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and supersede any prior understanding.
16.2 Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions remain in full force.
16.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
16.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign them to a successor operator of the Service, who will be bound by them and by the privacy policy.
16.5 Events beyond our control. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of our service providers, network failures, natural disasters or acts of government.
16.6 Changes. We may amend these Terms. The amended Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced in the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date is acceptance; if you do not accept the change, stop using the Service and you may delete your account.
16.7 Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience, and the English version prevails.
16.8 Notices. We may give you notice through the Service or by email to the address on your account. You may give us notice at the.renzgorre@gmail.com.
